Social media policy

This policy is in place to minimise the risks to the Hunt, Hunt Employees, Masters, Hunt Officers or any of the Hunt Members, Supporters, Landowners, Farmers, Gamekeepers and personnel through use of social media.

This policy deals with the use of all forms of social media, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, Wikipedia, Whisper, Instagram, Vine, Tumblr and all other social networking sites, internet postings and blogs.  It applies to use of social media for work purposes as well as personal use that may affect the Hunt’s activities in any way.

All Members and supporters of the Hunt are asked:

  • To avoid making any social media communications that could damage the Hunt, Hunt Employees, Masters, Hunt Officers or any of the Hunt Members, Supporters, Landowners, Farmers, Gamekeepers and personnel or any other interested party’s interests or reputation or those of hunting generally, even indirectly.
  • Not to use social media to defame or disparage the Hunt, Hunt Employees, Masters, Hunt Officers or any of the Hunt Members, Supporters, Landowners, Farmers, Gamekeepers and personnel or any other interested parties or any association business or organisation associated with the Hunt.
  • Not to express opinions on behalf of the Hunt, Hunt Employees, the Masters or any of the Hunt Members or Supporters or Landowners, Farmers and Gamekeepers connected to the Hunt. If you disclose your affiliation with the Cotswold Hunt on your profile or in any social media postings we ask that you state that your views do not represent those of your Hunt or the Joint Masters or Chairman and you make it clear in social media postings, or in your personal profile, that you are speaking on your own behalf.
  • Not to post comments about sensitive related topics, such as the conduct of the Hunt, Hunt Employees or any of the Hunt Members or Supporters or any other interested parties or hunting generally. Please do not include the Hunt’s logos in any social media posting or in your profile on any social media unless authorised to do so by the Chairman and Joint Masters.
  • To report any misuse of social media in relation to the Hunt to the Chairman or Joint Masters.
